We’ve been getting lots of lovely emails with comments and questions so we’re going to do our best to cover the most frequently asked ones here.

How do I get more ink pots?
All Jottify users are given one gift ink pot every day. These ink pots can be given to whomever you want and of course, if you have fans, you will hopefully be sent ink pots by them.
Supporters get topped up to 20 ink pots when they start supporting Jottify and at the start of each month. Click here to find out more.
Woah! How did you get a profile picture of me? Are you spying on me?
When signing up to Jottify, some users may notice that a profile picture (or avatar) of them is automatically added. No, we’re not spying on you! The reason this happens is that we use a profile picture service called Gravatar (which stands for Globally Recognised Avatar).
If you have ever uploaded a profile picture to a website that also uses Gravatar, then that profile picture has been connected to your email address and will automatically appear when you sign up to other sites like this one.
The Jottify Store
The Jottify Store is an easy and straightforward way for you to self-publish in the three main ebook formats with minimal hassle and maximum revenue. We have some big publishers watching the site and they have access to sales figures so if your book sells well with us, they may be interested in contacting you and making you an offer of a proper publishing deal.
Do you take care of the ISBN registration?
No, we are a not seeking to act as a proper publishing company. We are allowing you a simple means of distributing your work to your audience and other writers via the store on our website. An ISBN is not required for the private sale of ebooks and as we are not offering any form of print or third party distribution this is not necessary for us.
Do you take care of pushing the book to the main platforms (Kobo, iBookstore, Amazon for Kindle, B&N etc.)?
No, we are offering to sell your ebooks exclusively through our online store. For new writers, getting on the iBookstore, Amazon for Kindle and others is not actually as good as it sounds. Up against the very big names in the literary world, it is incredibly unlikely that these third parties will promote your book in any way and there are tens of thousands of books on these stores that have sold only a few copies. Selling on these platforms also means that a considerable amount of the revenue from your book is soaked up by the third party retailer leaving you with as little as 20-30% of the revenue.
On the Jottify store, we’ll promote whatever the users of the site like and you’re only competing against other aspiring writers so it’s much easier to get noticed. Our store will support purchasing directly on the iPad and will still place your book in the iBooks app if the customer wants it there. The cover, frontispiece, title page, copyright information and everything else will be included so the book will look almost identical to one bought on the iBookstore. The same will apply, for example, to the Kindle format although on the Kindle users may be required to use one of several easy methods to manually add the book to the device.
Do you take care of the conversion to the right format, providing you get a Word document formatted to your specifications?
Yes, although rather than a Word document we will require writers upload their work to the site and organise it using our tools. We will then take that and turn that into the ebook
How often will you make make royalty payments?
We will make royalty payments at the end of each month for the previous month’s sales. We will only make payments where the royalties equate to at least £100.00. If the royalties do not equate to at least £100.00 then they will be carried over to the next month. For example, the royalties for the month of September (including any previously accrued royalties) will be paid at the end of October.
