Cinquains of reflection

By

I
Happy.
Remember that
Time we ran half drunk through

Did I
Ever tell you
That I loved you that night?
I loved you then (but not sure now).

    I do, I did … ain’t that just life.
Adhering to the classic american form—I’m reminded what an interesting form this is, and difficult to do well.

I do too, which is why I’ve done my fair share of tanka, haiku, shadorma, and, indeed, cinquains (the third of my Grieving Garden poems). This is the first time I encounter the cinquain in someone else’s writing on jottify, and like it I do.
